Job Description

We are looking for an Application Administrator to join our IT Team in at Solenix. This position has initially a strong focus on Microsoft 365, including general application operations, client aspects and user support. Over time, we expect you to gradually expand your responsibilities to include IT leadership, strategic planning, procurement and information security management. 

As our Application Administrator, you will help translate our business strategies into effective application solutions. This involves implementing, monitoring and maintaining our Microsoft 365 environment including Entra ID, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and Office applications. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and configuration of non-Microsoft applications, primarily running in a Docker environment, as well as managing client devices and providing first-line user support to our staff.

This position is ideal for someone looking for a hands-on role with a solid technical foundation in Microsoft 365 administration and a desire to take ownership of IT operations, processes, and long-term planning. Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Sciences or Information Technology, or equivalent in professional experience
  • Pro-active attitude with initiative and interest in challenging solutions
  • Good communication skills in an international environment
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written particularly in technical documentation
  • Operate and support internal applications, including Docker-based services
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the following technologies is required:
    • Microsoft 365 tenant design and deployment (groups, email, SSO)
    • Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange, Intune)
    • Microsoft 365 user and authentication administration (Entra)

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE or similar)
  • Microsoft server administration including security hardening
  • ERP administration, preferably Odoo
  • Gitlab administration
  • Docker, Kubernetes and Virtual machine administration
  • Experience in IT project management, policy development or cybersecurity
  • Experience in team leadership

Work Location: This position is expected to be located in one of our offices in Darmstadt, Germany or Frascati, Italy or Porto, Portugal. We follow a hybrid scheme, which means you are expected to work on-site in Darmstadt two days per week (or more if you like), and on the remaining days you can work from home.
